It is with great sorrow and regret that i ( amanda....the student!) finish my placement tomorrow (Friday) It has been a great 12 weeks full of learning, fun, coffee, cake and chocolate......mostly the latter. I would love to say i will spend the next six months utilising what i have learnt here but alas the time will instead be spent getting me on a sugar and caffeine replacement programme to detox.
I have enjoyed my time in CVS land and have been facinated by the crazy goings on of the voluntary sector....i'm mildly traumatised but will survive. I have great stories and one or two topical analogies to share with my classmates when i return to university in January.
I will mostly miss the teeny tiny office which seemed to burst at the seems with my arrival. I have never felt so welcomed and included as part of the team so quickly. Lee will no longer have to compete with me for title of "who is the messiest person" in the office and Linda's ears will no longer bleed when i accidentally utter the odd profanity at our supersonic speed computers, Donald will no longer have to listen to me witter on when the sugar rush peaks and Terry will no longer have such awesome tea and coffee facilities.
Marina has been a great influence to me in my time here and i have learned much from her such as the ability to get things done whilst maintaining a dignified air of professionalism. This woman is a rock to CVS land and i admire her greatly.
Goodbye, Farewell......i'll be in next week see you then
